Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Sheridan Road between Haven Street and Garrett Place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

That’s because about 10 p.m. Thursday night a truck delivering windows to Northwestern University had its load shift, knocking over a light post on the west side of Sheridan Road.

The truck is currently unable to move until its load is readjusted.

Crews will be on site today with a crane to fix the issue and clean up the area.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area, because traffic delays are expected.

  1. Accident happened earlier

I saw this happen last night, which occurred at 7:25PM, not 10PM. I was waiting for the bus at Sheridan and Noyes when it happened and passed the truck about 5-10 minutes post accident.
