Police say two students at Evanston Township High School now face felony strong-arm robbery charges in connection with two incidents at the school last Wednesday.

Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther says that around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday a student opening his locker was approached by two students. One put his arm around the victim’s neck and pushed him to the hallway floor, saying “Let me get that phone.”

When the victim refused, the robber grabbed an Apple iPhone from the victim’s pocket.

Then, about 3:30 p.m., two students walking in a school hallway were pushed from behind and knocked to the floor by two assailants who grabbed cell phones from their pockets and then fled the area.

Guenther says a joint investigation by ETHS Security and Evanston Police led to the identification of Levertis C.P. Williams, 18, of 1426 Grey Ave., and Julian Emerson Hutchinson, 17, of 606 South Blvd., as the alleged robbers.

They’re both scheduled to appear in Skokie district court at 9 a.m. on June 14.
