Two cars were stolen and seven were burglarized in south Evanston. Those stories lead the Friday crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Auto theft

1300 Kirk

A light green 1999 Olds was stolen from the street in the 1300 block of Kirk Street between midnight and 9 a.m.  Thursday.

1200 Chicago

A beige 2003 Ford was stolen from a gas station in the 1200 block of Chicago between 9:15 and 9:25 p.m. Wednesday using keys that had been taken from the shop.

Burglary

300 Ashland

Someone entered a 2010 Honda parked in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Ashland Avenue by opening an unlocked door. No word on whether anything was taken.

1100 Washington

Someone upened unlocked doors of two cars — a 20008 Volkswagen and a 2016 Nissan — in the 1100 block of Washignton Street between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday. No word on whether anything was taken.

300 Wesley

Someone opened the unlocked door of a 2013 Volkswagen parked on the street in the 300 block of Wesley Avenue between 4:45 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday and stole a bag containing tools.

1600 Brummel

Someone stole cash and car parts from a 2013 Acura parked on the 1600 block of Brummel Street between 9 .m. Wednesday and 8:25 a.m. Thursday.

100 Kedzie

Someone opened the unlocked door of a 2015 BMW parked on the 100 block of Kedzie Street between midnight Sunday and 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

800 Michigan

Someone opened the unlocked door of a 2015 Volkswagen parked in the 800 block of Michigan Avenue about 7 a.m. Thursday.

Assault/Battery

7508 Winchester

Darrell R. Jones, 25, of 129 W. King in Decatur, was arrested at 7508 Winchester in Chicago at 12:07 a.m. Friday and charged with battery. He’s due in court at 9 a.m. on Sept. 15.

1413 Florence

Paul Victor McGee, 62, of 1934 Jackson Ave. was arrested at 1413 Florence Ave. at 8:48 a.m. on Thursday and charged with assault. He’s due in court at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 30.

Criminal damage

1100 Grove

Graffiti was found on a playground in the 1000 block of Grove Street at 2:35 p.m. Thursday.

Other

Church at McCormick

Carlos D. Hatfield Goodnight, 23, of 2701 Salem Blvd in Zion, was arrested at Church Street and McCormick Blvd. at 6:09 p.m. Thursday and charged with violating and order of protection. He’s due in court at 9 a.m. on Aug. 30.

Robbery

101 Asbury

Hilton D. Corins, 36, of 7721 Bolton Way in Hanover Park was arrested at 1220 Harvard Terrace at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday and charged in connection with two armed robberies at the CVS drug store at 101 Asbury Ave. Related story.

Theft

1000 Grove

An unsecured bag was stolen from the McGaw YMCA at 1000 Grove St. between noon and 3:13 p.m. Thursday.

1100 Church

An unattended gray Schwinn bicycle was stolen from the common area of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Church Street between 9 and 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
