Two Evanstonians will be among the people honored by American Red Cross of Greater Chicago at its annual heroes breakfast next week.

Daniel Coyne will receive the Adult Good Samaritan Award for donating his kidney to Myra, his favorite grocery store clerk. Coyne wanted to show his two children the importance of helping others in need.

Daniel and Myra successfully underwent the procedures in May. Daniel has since been a true hero in the eyes of Myra and her family.

Charna Epstein will receive the Disaster Relief Award for providing endless relief and support to disaster victims. She organizes disaster relief groups, oversees the implementation of programs, raises funds and builds relationships with disaster survivors.

The heroes breakfast will be held at the Fairmont Chicago Hotel on April 14. To purchase tickets call 312-907-0520.
