Evanston police have two men in custody after an incident in which a woman reported one of the men had pointed a gun at her in south Evanston shortly after 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Police responding to the woman’s 911 call spotted a car matching the description she provided of the car the men were driving near the intersection of Custer Avenue and Mulford Street.

The two men, who reportedly were known to police from previous encounters, initially refuse orders from officers to get out of the vehicle, and a standoff that lasted for about five minutes followed before the men eventually complied.

No one was injured in the incident, and no shots were fired.

It’s unknown at this point what, if any, charges will be filed against the men.

Update 10:50 a.m. 8/6/17: Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says the following charges have been filed in the incident. Justin Neal-Guy, 23, of 1721 Ashland Ave., has been charged with misdemeanor assault. Sean Logan, 24, of 1715 Dodge Ave., has been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. They’re both scheduled to appear in Skokie district court on Sept. 27.

No gun was recovered from the car.
