Evanston health officials reported two new COVID-19 cases among city residents today, raising the total number here to 749, and one new death, raising the death toll to 59.

Chicago reported 197 new cases for a total of 48,939 and 38 more deaths for a total of 2352.

Across the state there were 766 new cases for a total of 130,603 and 90 more deaths for a total of 6,185.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported results of 260 COVID-19 tests of Evanston residents today with a positive rate of 0.8%. One of the two cases came from each of the city’s two ZIP Codes.

Statewide IDPH reported results of 22,325 tests today with a positive reate of 3.4%. The seven-day average positive rate now stands at 4.2%.

All four regions of the state continue to be on track to move to the next state of the Restore Illinois program late this month.
