Evanston health officials reported two more COVID-19 cases today, raising the city’s total to 805, but no additional deaths, leaving the death toll among residents at 70.

Across Illinois there were 587 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 148,452 and 37 additional deaths, increasing the death toll to 7,063.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported test results for 26,994 people today, about 2,500 below the average for the past seven days.

The positive rate among those whose test results came back today was 2.2%. That’s below the seven-day average of 2.6%.

Today’s figures for the City of Chicago were not yet available at the time this story was published.
