Evanston health officials say two more city residents were diagnosed with COVID-19 today while the state said 1,828 cases emerged across Illinois.
That brings the city’s case count to 928. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported four new cases in Evanston today which would make the case count 930.
The IDPH reported results of tests on 323 city residents for a positive test rate of 1.2%. The death toll from COVID-19 in Evanston now has remained unchanged at 71 for more than a month.
Chicago reported 317 new cases today for a total of 65,801 and one additional death for a total of 2,823.
Suburban Cook County reported 303 new cases for a total of 49,543 and one more death for a total of 2,130.
Statewide the case count now stands at 204,519 and the death toll today rose by five to 7,726.
The IDPH reported results of 44,414 coronavirus tests today, a bit more than the seven-day average, and reported a positive rate of 4.1% for the day, compared to a seven-day average of 4%
