Evanston heatlh officials reported two new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the city’s total to 770  The reported death toll remained unchanged at 68.

However, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported positive results from four more Evanston residents today, and it now lists a total case count for the city of 774. The IDPH says 99 more Evanston residents got test results today, for a positive test rate of 4%

Chicago reported 116 more COVID-19 cases today for a total of 50,541. and  14 more deaths for a total death toll of 2,505.

Across Illinois there were 658 more COVID-19 cases for a total of 136,762 and 22 additional deaths for a total of 6,647.

Across the state test results for another 23,816 people were reported and the positive rate was 2.8%. The seven-day positive rate now stands at 2.5%

All four regions of the state continue to meet the metrics established for moving to the next phase of the Restore Illinois plan on June 26.
