Two young men reportedly were shot in the 300 block of Custer Avenue about 1 p.m. today.
The victims reportedly drove themselves to nearby St. Francis Hospital where they were being treated in the emergency room at last report.
Evanston police investigating the shooting found shell casings in the area where the shooting took place.
Update 2:47 p.m.: Police Cmdr. Ryan Glew says one victim is 20 years old, the other 21 years old. Both are residents of Chicago. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Glew says the victims were sitting in a parked car when they were shot and that they were not armed when they arrived at the hospital.

Today’s shooting followed by less than 24 hours a shots fired incident in the vicinity of Ashland Avenue and Payne Street in the 5th Ward. No one was hit in that Thursday afternoon incident but police found more than a dozen shell casings in the area.
