Two trucks collided on McCormick Boulevard south of Bridge Street in Evanston about 11:30 this morning.

One of the vehicles was a cement truck — the other a box-style delivery vehicle.

As you might expect, the box truck suffered more severe damage in the collision — which happened in the southbound lane of the road.

Update 1:22 p.m.: No injuries, but the driver of the box truck, a 48-year-old man from Braceville, Ill., was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Evanston police say the collision occurred after the Ozinga cement truck pulled over to let a Skokie ambulance pass by. The crew of the ambulance, which wasn’t involved in the collision, called in the first report of the accident to police.
