Uber today launched its first expandion of its UberEats delivery service in the metro area beyond the Chicago city limits — adding service to Evanston, Wilmette and Kenilworth.
The company, best know for disrupting the taxi industry, is now operating the service in about 17 metro areas around the world — from San Diego to Singapore.
Customers can order using the UberEats smartphone app or from the website.
Food delivery is offered from 8 a.m. until whenever participating restaurants close.
About a dozen Evanston restaurants, ranging from Hecky's BBQ to the Celtic Knot, are participating in the service at its launch here.
UberEats charges a flat $4.99 delivery fee, and there’s no need to tip. North Shore residents can enter promo code NorthShoreEats for $10 off their first order.
