A bag left unattended was stolen from Lighthouse Beach and a bicycle was taken from an unlocked garage on Hartrey.  These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

1000 Ashland

Someone attempted to gain entry to a 2006 Toyota in the parking area of an apartment building in the 1000 block of Ashland Avenue between 8:20 and 8:27 a.m. Monday.

2100 Hartrey

A burglar gained access to a residential garage through an open door in the 2100 block of Hartrey Avenue and stole a Trek bicycle between 6 p.m. Thursday and 7:46 p.m. Monday.

Theft

1600 Washington

A 2000 Toyota was stolen from the street in the 1600 block of Washington Street between 10:15 p.m. Sunday and 10:22 a.m. Monday.

2600 Sheridan

An unattended bag and its contents were stolen from Lighthouse Beach in the 2600 block of Sheridan Road at 9:52 p.m. Monday.

3300 Howard

Sidney Burrus, 56, of 1512 W. Fargo in Chicago was arrested for retail theft at 3325 Howard St. at 6:42 p.m. Monday and is due to appear in Skokie District Court at 9 a.m. August 21.

Traffic

Asbury and Oakton

Antonio Villegas-Tapia, 47, of 5160 Damen in Chicago, was arrested for a traffic violation at Asbury Avenue and Oakton Street at 9:05 p.m. Monday and is due to appear in Skokie District Court at 9 a.m. August 16.
