Unattended cell phones stolen at church, library

Thieves took unattended cell phones at a church on Chicago Avenue and at the main public library. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Criminal Damage

1600 Dodge

A 2008 Lexus sustained scratches on the grounds of Evanston Township High School between 8 a.m. and 4:05 p.m. Tuesday.

2000 Wesley

A window was broken on a 2006 Toyota in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue around 10:45 p.m. yesterday.

Other

716 Clark

Stephen A. Adams, 23, of 1824 Grey Ave., was arrested at 716 Clark St. at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. He is due in court on Jan. 5 at 1:05 p.m.

Theft

300 Hamilton

A known offender removed credit and debit cards from a wallet at a home in the 300 block of Hamilton Street between 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 4 and 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

1400 Chicago

A cell phone left unattended at a church in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue was taken between 1:50 p.m. and 1:55 p.m. yesterday

1000 Central

Cash was removed from a desk at a medical office in the 1000 block of Central Street between 8 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Orrington

A cell phone left unattended at the main Evanston Public Library was taken between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
