Burglary
700 Michigan
A burglar entered a single family home in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue about 7:45 p.m. Monday through an unlocked door, but left a minute later without taking anything.
2200 Sherman
A man walked into an apartment in the 2200 block of Sherman Avenue about 2:35 p.m. Monday through an unlocked back door. When a resident of the apartment confronted him, the burglar hit the victim in the upper lip and then fled back out the back door. Related story.
2100 Emerson
Someone stole iPhone charing cables from a 2009 Nissan that was parked in the 2100 block of Emerson Street sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday.
Criminal damage
500 Howard
Graffiti was discovered at 7:10 a.m. today on a retail store in the 500 block of Howard Street.
600 Howard
Graffiti was found on a hardware store in the 600 block of Howard Street at 9:16 a.m. Monday.
700 Sheridan
Someone damaged the rear windshield of a 2003 Lexus parked in an alley in the 700 block of Sheridan Road sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.
Traffic
3359 Dempster
Alejandro Barajas, 24, of 7220 N. Rogers in Chicago, was arrested and charged with a traffic violation at 1:20 a.m. today at 3359 Dempster St. in Skokie. He’s due in court at 9 a.m. on Dec. 12.
1420 Chicago
Aja F. Terrier, 33, of 7410 N. Winchester in Chicago, was arrested at 1420 Chicago Ave. at 1:29 a.m. today and charged with driving under the influence. Court date 9 a.m. Dec. 20.
