Unlocked doors aid 2 burglaries

Unlocked doors provided access for burglars in the 300 block of Asbury Avenue and the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

300 Asbury

A men’s road bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage at a residence in the 300 block of Asbury Avenue around 10:45 a.m. yesterday.

1600 Ridge

A laptop computer and its charger were stolen from an unlocked apartment in the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1700 Orrington

A wallet and a clear card holder containing identification, a Social Security card and a bus card, left unattended at the main Evanston Public Library, was stolen between 1:45 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law.
