Burglary

900 Maple

A laptop computer was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Maple Avenue between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday.

2100 Ashland

An unlocked 2009 Honda in the 2100 block of Ashland Avenue was accessed by a burglar between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

800 Brummel

The windshield was damaged on a 2013 Toyota in an apartment parking space in the 800 block of Brummel Street between 4 p.m. Sunday and 12:22 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1400 Chicago

A wallet left unattended at a mental health facility in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue was taken yesterday between 11 a.m. and noon.

1700 Main

A cell phone left unattended at a park in the 1700 block of Main Street was stolen between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. yesterday.

2900 Central

Copper electric wires were reported stolen from a retail establishment in the 2900 block of Central Street between 6 p.m. Saturday and 9:53 a.m. yesterday.

1700 Sherman

A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue was stolen yesterday around 1:30 p.m.

3301 Lawrence

David L. Foster, 23, of 4836 N. Spaulding Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 3301 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago, at 6:30 p.m. yesterday and charged with possession of stolen property. He is due in court on Oct. 12 at 10:30 a.m.

Traffic

500 Asbury

Michael McCarter, 25, of 2851 S. King Drive, Chicago, was arrested at 500 Asbury Ave. at 12:56 a.m. today and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 6 at 9 a.m.

635 Chicago

Gensan Smith, 41, of 1319 Greenleaf St., was arrested at 635 Chicago Ave. at 2:42 a.m. today and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
