Vandals use fire extinguisher on school bus

A school bus parked in a lot on Emerson Street was damaged over the weekend by vandals with a fire extinguisher. This among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Criminal Damage

1500 Emerson

A school bus parked in a lot in the 1500 block of Emerson Street was sprayed by vandals with a fire extinguisher between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 7:54 a.m. yesterday.

600 Chicago

Someone broke a glass door at a bank in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue around 10:26 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

800 Clark

Thieves removed cash from a safe at a restaurant in the 800 block of Clark Street between 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. yesterday.

Traffic

1227 Dodge

Yanitza A. Rodriguez, 19, of 117 Callan Ave., was arrested at 1227 Dodge Ave. at 4:05 a.m. today and charged with a traffic violation. A court date has been set for Feb. 27 at 9 a.m.

2101 Howard

LaTrena E. Shorts, 38, of 131 W. Chase Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2101 Howard St. at 5:17 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on March 14 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
