Howard Street in Evanston is getting a new dining spot this week with the opening of The Amazing Kale Burger at 741 Howard.

The owners are planning a grand opening celebraton for Saturday but are already serving diners at lunch time.

It features what’s described as all veggie, gluten and soy free vegan burgers made with kale, crimini mushrooms, onion, potato, zucchini, tomato, black beans, red pepper, gluten-free oats, garbanzo bean flour, cocount aminos, jalapeno, salt, garlic, nutritional yeast, and olive oil.

The burgers have been available for a while now at some local restaurants and food stores.
