A Volkswagen was stolen from an apartment complex on Emerson near Dodge, and a Ford was burglarized just two blocks away. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.


2000 Emerson

A 2007 Volkswagen was stolen from its apartment parking space in the 2000 block of Emerson Street around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

1500 Dodge

A secured bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Dodge Avenue between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday.

1600 Sherman

Alcoholic products were taken from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 2 p.m. Friday.

2400 Howard

Food items were stolen from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street shortly after midnight today.


1800 Emerson

Cash and jewelry were taken from a 2014 Ford in the 1800 block of Emerson Street between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:49 a.m. today.

1700 Hartrey

A 2011 Dodge was entered between 2:20 p.m. and 10:43 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Hartrey Avenue. Nothing was reported missing.

1800 Ridge

Glasses and clothing were taken from a 2005 Lexus in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Ridge Avenue between midnight Thursday and 1:11 p.m. Saturday.

Criminal Damage

1900 Dodge

Someone damaged the window of a home in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

2000 Sherman

The door to an apartment in the 2000 block of Sherman Avenue was damaged between Jan. 17 and 4:30 p.m. Saturday.


1100 Hartrey

Graffiti was discovered at a warehouse in the 1100 block of Hartrey Avenue at 11:13 a.m. Saturday.

1200 Hartrey

Graffiti was discovered at a warehouse in the 1200 block of Hartrey Avenue at 10:54 a.m. Saturday.

2100 Greenleaf

Graffiti was discovered at a warehouse in the 2100 block of Greenleaf Street at 11:15 a.m. Saturday.


Lyons at Darrow

Police received a report of a man with a gun near Lyons Street and Darrow Avenue at 3:48 a.m. yesterday. They checked the area but found no man with a gun.

2040 Sheridan

Jonathan Gomes, 35, of 7532 N. Damen Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2040 Sheridan Road at 8:58 p.m. on Jan. 21 and charged with unlawful use of a gun.


1900 Asbury

Twan D. Daniels-Robinson, 31, of 1907 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1900 Asbury Ave. at 6:03 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 11 at 9 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
