Several vehicles were ransacked in a garage breakin on Hinman Avenue Tuesday night. This among stories in Thursday’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.
BURGLARY
1500 Hinman
Someone forced their way into a residential garage in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue between midnight Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday and ransacked several vehicles.
Someone used a pry tool to force entry to a common area in a residential building in the 1500 block of Hinman Avenue between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:25 a.m. Wednesday. Several packages were taken.
1700 Monroe
A burglar gained entry to an unlocked 2011 Nissan in the 1700 block of Monroe Street between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday and took miscellaneous items.
600 Dartmouth
Someone entered an unlocked 2022 Jeep in the 600 block of Dartmouth Place between 8 a.m. and 4:12 p.m. Tuesday and stole a backpack.
BATTERY
1809 Brummel
Jawonne T. Worth, 28, and Joshua T. Worth, 30, both of 1809 Brummel St., were arrested at that address late Tuesday afternoon and charged with domestic battery.
1936 Wesley
Shiquan R. Jones, 29, of 7724 S. Throop Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1936 Wesley Ave. at 2 p.m. Tuesday and charged with domestic battery.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
800 Dempster
Someone cut cables at a residence in the 800 block of Dempster Street around 4 p.m. Sunday.
SHOTS HEARD
McDaniel at Davis
Gunshots were reported at McDaniel Avenue and Davis Street at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
2200 Ridge
Gunshots were reported in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue at 9:06 p.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
1800 Hovland
Gunshots were reported in the 1800 block of Hovland Court at 11:02 p.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
THEFT
500 Chicago
A package was taken from a residence in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue around midnight Saturday.
600 Chicago
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2011 Toyota in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Miscellaneous merchandise was taken from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
900 Dodge
Diapers were stolen from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 900 block of Dodge Avenue around 2:30 p.m. on May 11.
1100 Chicago
Food items were taken from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.
1600 Chicago
A purse was stolen from the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue around 1 p.m.Tuesday.
800 Sherman
A license plate was stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Sherman Avenue between Dec. 1, 2021, and 10:35 a.m. Tuesday.
600 Dempster
Oil was taken from a restaurant in the 600 block of Dempster Street around 12:55 a.m. Monday.
2700 California
Rashawn D. McClary, 19, of 932 Judson Ave., was arrested in Chicago at 2700 S. California Ave. at 10:15 a.m. on May 12 and charged with stealing a vehicle.
Incidents listed appear among reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
