James “Jimmy C” Edwards Jr. is retiring after 25 years of service with the department.

Fire Division Chief Tom Janetske says Edwards was well known within the community and worked with many organizations over the span of his career as a captain/paramedic and that he continues to touch many people’s lives through his role in public education, fire prevention, and inspections.

The ceremony to mark his retirement will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at Evanston Fire Headquarters, 909 Lake St.
