Evanston police are seeking to locate a gray or silver newer model Lincoln SUV used in a pre-dawn shooting incident Saturday at Howard Street and Dodge Avenue that left two men with gunshot wounds.

Police have located surveillance video from the area that shows a gunman reaching out of the passenger window of one car to fire shots at another.

The shooting victims, a 22-year-old Round Lake Beach man and a 23-year-old Waukegan man, were shot about 3:51 a.m. after leaving a club in Chicago. Both were hospitalized at St. Francis with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says detectives have also learned that there were witnesses in a separate vehicle at the location of the shooting who have not come forward.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call the Evanston Police Department at (847) 866-5000. Text-a-Tip can also be used by texting to CRIMES (274637) and placing EPDTIP in the message line with the anonymous information. Although the police department prefers in a case of this type that the information not be anonymous, anonymous tips are always accepted and can lead to further investigative information.
