They’re saving the best for last Saturday at the War On The Shore basketball shootout set for Evanston’s historic Beardsley Gymnasium.

Host Evanston, currently ranked No. 7 in the Class 4A Associated Press state poll, will take on No. 8 ranked Bolingbrook Saturday at 6 p.m. in the third game of a scheduled tripleheader.

Tickets are available at the door — at a cost of $5 — for the shootout that matches New Trier against DePaul Prep at 3 p.m., Loyola Academy against St. Viator at 4:30 p.m., and ETHS against south suburban powerhouse Bolingbrook at 6.

For the 9th straight year, shootout organizers are partnering with the Danny Did Foundation and its work to protect children with epilepsy. The Foundation was established after 4-year-old Danny Stanton passed away due to an epileptic seizure on December 12, 2009.

Proceeds from the shootout event will benefit the foundation and a bake sale will also be held to raise funds.
