road-construction

Starting next Monday a contractor for the City of Evanston will replace a water main along Dodge Avenue between Mulford and Oakton streets and resurface the street.

The project is expected to be completed in mid-August 2015.

The existing deteriorated 10-inch water main will be replaced with new ductile iron pipe. The street work involves curb replacement as needed, roadway base repair, replacement of the asphalt surface from curb to curb along with selected sidewalk replacement.

Construction zone daytime no parking restrictions will be intermittent during the project; evening and nighttime parking will be available on the east side of Dodge Avenue.

Street sweeping and neighborhood parking restrictions will be waived for a one-block radius around the construction zone when temporary daytime “No Parking” restrictions are in effect.

Sprinkler systems should be identified and marked with a flag by property owners prior to the start of construction to prevent damage.

The contractor for this street improvement project is A. Lamp Concrete Contractors, Inc., 1900 Wright Blvd., Schaumburg.

The project is monitored by the City’s Engineering & Infrastructure Division. For questions or concerns, please contact Resident Engineer Angeleo Alonzo at 224-723-7487.
