New Trier held a 2-1 edge after the first quarter then struck hard in the 2nd quarter opening up a 4-1 lead before Evanston notched its second nd goal of the game eight seconds before halftime.

The third quarter was a defensive battle with New Trier adding the only goal and taking a 5-2 lead.

In the fourth quarter the Wildkit boys scored their first goal in the first minute of play which boosted their spirits and had them believing they could win. It was only a minute later they notched their second goal making the score 5-4.

New Trier scored next but then Evanston tallied again to draw within a goal. \

With only 47 seconds left Evanston tied the score at 6-6. New Trier scored the go ahead goal with 30 seconds left in the game.

After two ensuing timeouts Evanston had a great shot on net that was tipped wide and eventually coralled by New Trier to end the game.
