Five different players scored in the fourth quarter and sophomore goalie Sydney Bernadel delivered some big defensive stops as Evanston’s surging girls water polo team spilled 8th-ranked Loyola Academy 10-8 at the Burton Aquatic Center.

Loyola, ranked 8th in the state by the website illpolo.com, led 6-4 after three periods before the Wildkits got untracked behind goals from Madison Collins, Karissa McBride, Honore Collins, Melinda King and Courtney Gregori.

Bernadel moved up from the junior varsity squad to replace vacationing varsity starter Olivia Everhart and recorded three big saves to deny the Ramblers late in the final period.

Another sophomore, Millie Rosen, forced a crucial kickout with 2 minutes remaining to help the Wildkits kill the clock in the comeback win.
