Evanston public works crews anti-iced main and secondary roads around town late Sunday in preparation for the snow showers that arrived this morning and are expected to continue off-and-on through tomorrow.
James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency says we’re expected to get about an inch of snow from the storm by Tuesday. After that colder conditions are expected for the rest of the week.
The National Weather Service say snow showers and blowing snow could create some visibility problems for motorists over the next couple of days.
Maiworm says crews are on standby now and will go back to treating roads as conditions require.
