Robberies were reported Saturday evening in the 1900 block of Ridge Avenue and Sunday evening in the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.
Robbery
1900 Ridge
An aggragated robbery occurred in the 1900 block of Ridge Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. yesterday. when a robber implying he had a weapon, stole a chicken dinner from a patron at the Chicken Shack restaurant.
1600 Dodge
An armed robbery occurred Saturday night at about 9:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue when the robber displayed a knife to his victim. Nothing was reported taken, however.
Battery
1454 Elmwood
Darnell Jefferson, 60, of 2037 Oakton St., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday and charged with battery. He is due in court on Nov. 20 at 9 a.m.
Burglary
355 Ridge
Zachary S. Spear, 28, address unknown, was arrested at 355 Ridge Ave. at 6:55 a.m. Thursday and charged with burglary. He was arrested again at Evanston police headquarters at 11:47 a.m. and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Nov. 13 at 9 a.m.
Central at Green Bay
Someone broke into a 2018 Honda at Central Street and Green Bay Road at 6:35 p.m. Friday and stole a purse, cash, and a laptop computer.
Criminal Damage
2000 Central
Scratches were etched on the glass window of a beauty shop in the 2000 block of Central Street between 4 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
3200 Harrison
Damage was discovered in the yard of a home in the 3200 block of Harrison Street that occurred between 9 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. Friday.
800 Hamlin
Someone damaged a fence at a home in the 800 block of Hamlin Street between 11:30 a.m. Thursday and 9:51 a.m. Saturday.
Theft
2600 Poplar
An American flag was removed from its pole at a home in the 2600 block of Poplar Avenue between 5 p.m. Friday and 3:23 p.m. Saturday.
2600 Central
A bicycle secured in an apartment common area in the 2600 block of Central Street was stolen between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
100 Asbury
Hygeine products were taken from the CVS Pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue around 5 p.m. yesterday.
1454 Elmwood
Matthew D. Gould, 37, of 3000 Kennedy, East Moline, was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 9:19 a.m. Thursday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Nov. 18 at 1:30 p.m.
Traffic
2113 Howard
Lauren M. Bostick, 24, of 1368 W. Braymore, Naperville, was arrested at 2113 Howard St. at 1:51 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence.
South Boulevard at Forest
Maia Zahara Hunwick-Bailey, 20, of 6019 S. King Dr., Chicago, was arrested at South Boulevard and Forest Avenue at 3:22 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. She is due in court on Nov. 20 at 9 a.m.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
