The West End Market, in its debut season at Church and Dodge, has extended its hours and is now open Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Market organizers made the change to take advantage of the increased traffic in early afternoon, giving the community a bit more time to take advantage of the produce offered by Geneva Farms, and to shop from the local vendors present at the Market.

Starting July 19 and continuing while supplies last, children’s bikes are being sold at the West End Market by the Recyclery (www.recyclery.org). Bicycles refurbished by the Recyclery are sold for $10 and under, and include a fitted helmet. Ten bikes were sold at the first sale, despite the rain!

Finally, the Talking Farm (www.talkingfarm.org) is selling produce and plants – grown at Twigg’s Park in Evanston – as it becomes available. The first sale was July 12, and Talking Farm plans to be present at future markets as harvests allow. Be among the first to buy food grown in Evanston! For more information about the West End Market, including opportunities to be a vendor, visit www.westendmarket.org, or call 847/624-2871.
