Assuming the governor’s stay-at-home order and other steps to contain the COVID-19 pandemic worked really well, what’s the current schedule for returning life to normal in Evanston?

Saturday, April 4Spring Quarter classes begin. a week late, at Northwestern University — but classes are conducted remotely.

Wednesday, April 8 — First day after Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s stay-at-home order expires. Shuttered businesses can start to reopen.

Monday, April 13 — District 65 and Evanston Township High School resume classes.

Monday, April 27 — On-campus instruction resumes at Northwestern.

Whether any of those target dates will be met, of course, is very much in question as we enter the second week of sheltering in place and the novel coronavirus case count and death toll around the country continue to rise.
