Evanston aldermen last October chose from three finalists for the job of city manager — selecting Interim City Manager Erika Storlie for the job. But how have things gone for the two candidates not selected?

Well, Maria Peoples, who was deputy manager of Coconino County, Arizona, when she interviewed for the Evanston job, became city manager in Webster Groves, Missouri, population 23,000, in January, after having been selected by the City Council in November.

And Aretha Ferrell-Benavides, who when she interviewed for the Evanston job was city manager of Petersburg, Virginia, started last month as city manager in Duncanville, Texas, population 39,000. She, too, was chosen for her new position last November.
