Evanston caffeine junkies can exhale now. Starbucks says none of its stores in Evanston are closing.

The giant coffee chain has announced the list of 600 stores it plans to close around the country, and all nine stores in Evanston — from Main Street at Chicago Avenue to Central Street at Crawford Avenue — escaped the ax.

Across the Chicago metro area 18 Starbucks are slated to close.

  1. The market has spoken
I didn’t realize there were 9 stores in Evanston. Talk about diluting your brand. They lost sight of who they are and let their product slip. The market has spoken as it always does. Please us or else.

I wish Intelligentsia and Caribou would knock out a couple of the Starbucks in town.

  2. We can do [way] Better
Well that is unfortunate. I don’t understand why people go there. I’m looking for a local Restaurateur to be a management partner in the best coffee shop(s) in Chicago, starting in Evanston. Contact me adamk @ studio2a.net
