Cast members of the McGaw YMCA’s Brillianteen show from days gone by will return to the stage Saturday, March 13, for an alumni revue performance at 7:30 p.m. at King Lab School, 2424 Lake St.

Headliners include Nancy Gustafson, internationally acclaimed opera singer who got her start in the Brillianteen production, Brigadoon. Performing with Nancy is Michael DeVries who is currently in the Broadway cast of Wicked.

And to answer the headline question — the pair in the photo from Brillianteen past who’ll be reprising their roles as Big Jim Warrington and Little Mary in “Little Mary Sunshine” are Bill Geiger, CEO of the McGaw YMCA, and Anne Gilford, director the Alumni Revue.

Geiger said the Brillianteen production is one of the Y’s proudest efforts. “This is much more than the students on the stage singing and dancing their hearts out. Youth are running the lights, setting up the ticket structure, doing press releases. It’s the complete package in terms of the leadership experience and one that very few of them ever forget.”

The alumni group’s show will take place on a night off from the two week run of the 59th Brillianteen production by the teen performance group, which this year is staging "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at King Lab on March 5, 6, 7, 12 and 14.

Tickets for both shows can be purchased online. from  Proceeds from the alumni review evening will be dedicated to future Brillianteen productions.

The alumni are also planning a 10:15 p.m. after-party at Prairie Moon Restaurant downtown, and Geiger says this time they won’t have to call their parents for a ride home!
