The Evanston Township High School boys basketball team defeated Rockford East 94-82 Friday night at Carver Arena in Peoria, putting the Kits into the state championship game tonight.
The Wildkits, now 33-4 on the season, set the Class 4A record for most points in a quarter, half and game for an IHSA Final Four contest.
The championship game against Belleview West will be held at 7:15 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center.
ETHS Athletic Director Chris Livatino says this is the first State Championship game for Evanston since 1984 and only the third in ETHS history. He says pllenty of tickes are available for tonights game and can be purchased for $11 at the Peoria Civic Center box office.
