Wind subsides, but it’s another day to avoid the lakefront

Much better weather expected Friday.

The National Weather Service says large waves and the threat of minor lakeshore flooding will slowly diminish this morning in Evanston

But the Weather Service again urges residents to avoid lakeshore parks, trails, piers, docks and breakwalls.

Amid all the wind and waves Wednesday it even appears that a waterspout formed briefly in the lake east of downtown Evanston.

Friday, the Weather Service predicts, will be a much more pleasant day with sunny skies and a high between 75 and 81 degrees.
