The contract of Evanston Township High School Superintendent Eric Witherspoon is scheduled to be extended by the District 202 School Board tonight at its regular monthly meeting.

The extension is listed on the board’s “consent agenda,” which contains non-controversial items that have no opposition, although any board member can remove an item from the consent agenda for separate discussion and vote.

Witherspoon, who has been superintendent at District 202 since July 2006, has regularly received contract extensions from the board throughout his tenure. His present contract extends through the 2019-2020 school year.

    Thank you for posting this story. Can you please follow up with the contractual decision the board makes after the meeting? His salary and benefits are extremely high, and I would like to know what increases the Board votes on tonight (assuming they will rubber stamp this as they have in the past).

  2. Witherspoon contract may be extended tonight

    We are parents of an ETHS sudent Class of 2021.  We are amazed at the excellent work of Dr. Witherspoon.  We are happy he is ours.
