Evanston Police say a woman fell from a three-story building at 1814 Central St. about 1:40 this afternoon.
The woman has been taken to Evanston Hospital by Evanston Fire Department paramedics.
Update 2:20 p.m.: Police Cmdr. Ryan Glew says the 31-year-old woman was unconscious but breathing when paramedics first reached her but regained consciousness and was talking to the paramedics by the time they put her into the ambulance.
Glew says the woman fell from an open third-story window of the apartment building. Those windows have Juliet balcony railings, and Glew said there was no sign upon an initial inspection that the window or railing had failed.
