Highland Park police advised a woman living on Madison Street that they had recovered jewelry believed to have been stolen from her home. This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.
THEFT
1100 Madison
A 78-year-old resident of the 1100 block of Madison Street received some good news from the Highland Park police, who returned to her a ring, a pocket watch, a bracelet, a pendant, and four necklaces they had retrieved from a suspect. The victim didn’t even realize the items were missing from her home.
1400 Howard
Electronic items were stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Howard Street around midnight on Sept. 1.
2000 Brummel
License plates were removed from a vehicle in the 2000 block of Brummel Street between midnight and 10 a.m. yesterday.
1000 Davis
Packages that had been delivered to a restaurant in the 1000 block of Davis Street were stolen around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.
300 Dempster
Delivered packages were stolen from a home in the 300 block of Dempster Street between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday.
1900 Dempster
A shoplifter was unsuccessful in an attempt to steal merchandise from a store in the 1900 block of Dempster Street around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
1900 Green Bay
A cell phone was reported stolen at a gas station in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road around 7:40 p.m. Friday.
900 Mulford
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2009 Honda in the 900 block of Mulford Street between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
1100 Mulford
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2007 Toyota in the 1100 block of Mulford Street between 3:48 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. Saturday.
500 Elmwood
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2003 Honda in the 500 block of Elmwood Avenue between 9 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
2700 Simpson
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2007 Honda in the 2700 block of Simpson Street between 5:45 a.m. and 12:42 p.m. Saturday.
BATTERY
Asbury at Kirk
Emma J. Findley, 41, of 2121 Dewey Ave., was arrested at Asbury Avenue and Kirk Street at 7:59 p.m. Thursday and charged with battery.
BURGLARY
200 Asbury
Someone gained entry to an unlocked 2012 Chevrolet in the 200 block of Asbury Avenue around 3:10 p.m. Saturday and stole a purse.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
100 Dodge
A tire was slashed on a 2007 Chevrolet in the 100 block of Dodge Avenue between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10:12 a.m. yesterday.
2100 Emerson
The windshield was shattered on a vehicle in the 2100 block of Emerson Street around 4:17 p.m. Friday.
713 Seward
Charles Robert Maynor, 48, of 713 Seward St., was arrested at that address at 12:48 a.m. Saturday and charged with criminal damage.
SHOTS HEARD
1800 Hovland
Gunshots were reported in the 1800 block of Hovland Court at 11:43 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.
TRAFFIC
Emerson at McCormick
Timothy K. Fitzgerald, 52, of 600 W. Washington Ave., Lake Bluff, was arrested at Emerson Street and McCormick Boulevard at 10:43 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence.
