A female Northwestern University student was robbed in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue in Evanston about 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the student was walking along Ridge when she was approached from behind by two men. One of the men grabbed her and demanded her iPhone, which she handed over.

A witness who was jogging nearby heard the victim scream, saw the men flee south on Ridge Avenue and called police.

Evanston and university police searched the area but weren’t able to locate the robbers.

No weapon was displayed. The victim was not injured.

The victim and witness were unable to provide a detailed description of the robbers.

Anyone with information that may assist in investigating the incident is asked to call the Evanston Police Department at 847-866-5000.
