Evanston police say two women were robbed at gunpoint Thursday on the city’s west side.

The women told officers they were approached by a man outside 1426 Grey Ave. about 12:30 Thursday afternoon who showed a gun, made them turn over their purses and then fled on foot.

Police say the suspect, an older black male about 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 200 pounds, was wearing a black hat, black face mask and a blue hooded sweatshirt.
