Evanston fire officials say contractors working on a home at 1021 Greenwood St. called in a report that they’d spotted flames in a third-floor attic space of the building.

Fire Division Chief Kimberly Kull says firefighters responding to the call about 4 p.m. Tuesday immediately pulled two hose lines and opened the ceiling to get at the flames.

Several companies from neighboring communities were brought in to help fight the fire, which, Kull says, was brought under control within 45 minute.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no reports of injuries.
