The City of Evanston invites condominium owners to attend “Condo Association and Board Training: 4 C’s for Effective Associations” from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.

Lakeside Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit housing agency, will present the workshop at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.

Cost for the workshop is $15 per condominium association. More than one person from a condominium may attend, but reservations are required. Participants will receive a 200+ page condominium reference manual.

Space is limited. Call the Planning Division (847) 866-2928 by April 25 to reserve a spot.

The workshop will cover a range of topics, including: the condo declaration, by-laws, and the Illinois Condominium Property Act; board responsibilities; managing the developer turn over; conducting effective meetings and resolving disputes; budgeting, reserves, and maintenance planning; assessments; self-management vs. management companies; responsibilities of owner/renters living in owned units; and building community.
