Wounded officer out of hospital

Evanston police say the rookie officer shot in the wrist while responding to a domestic disturbance call last week has been released from a local hospital.

Commander Tom Guenther said the officer now is "on the mend," but he wasn’t certain whether the injury will interfere with his return to work.

Reggie Henley, the suspect in the domestic disturbance incident, is still hospitalized, being treated for several gunshot wounds.

Guenther said the investigation of the incident is continuing and that no charges had yet been filed.
