Some light snow is expected tonight in Evanston, but it will probably change to light rain by Saturday morning.

James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency says the snow may start around 9 p.m. and continu until midnight with less than an inch of accumulation, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces.

It’s expected to shift to light rain or drizzle by 2 a.m. and end around 10 a.m. Saturday. The high temperature is expected to be around 45 on Saturday.

Maiworm says its not likely much snow will stick to roads because the air temperature is now 38 and pavement temperatures have been will above freezing all day.

Public Works has anti-iced the main streets and will be on standby for possible accumulations tonight.

  1. March

    Bill,

Can we get a new shot of that salt truck. Maybe just a picture of a salt shaker would be a good change of pace.

Who would have thought that march would be our snowest month this winter.

    Thanks in advance.
