The National Weather Service says Evanston is due to get a few more inches of snow tonight and again during the day on Sunday.

Evanston Public Works crews will be on duty overnight moving the snow off the roads..

Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says the best estimate is that the storm tonight will add about three inches to our totals for the year.

The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect through 9 a.m. Sunday for hazardous travel conditions — including snowfall rates of up to an inch an hour late this evening.

It’s also issued a hazardous weather outlook continuing through the day Sunday — with the possibility of additional lake effect snow continuing through Monday morning.
