The Youth Job Center has received a $50,000 grant from the Chicago Community Trust for its Career Pathways program.
The grant will support an automotive training program for young people who are 18 to 25 years old and not connected to work or school.
The program provides job-readiness training and a subsidized internship leading to achievement of a relevant, industry-recognized credential.
“The Youth Job Center is thrilled to have the support of the Trust on this exciting new initiative,” says YJC Executive Director, Sacella Smith.
The nearly century-old community trust makes grants to organizations working to improve metropolitan Chicago.
