Why, yes, and now’s your chance! Evanston-based production company CorradoMooncoin is filming the feature film “The Pages” in Evanston this summer. And they’re looking for extras.
CorradoMooncoin is headed by Northwestern grads Joe Chappelle and Colleen Griffen. Chappelle is known for his work producing and directing “Chicago Fire,” “CSI: Miami” and “The Wire.” And Griffen wrote, directed and produced the mockumentary web series “boyband.”
“The Pages” is described as a political thriller starring Tika Sumpter, Ben Tavassoli and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Deadline Hollywood says “the plot centers on a former top U.S. security adviser, Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Lamm (Sumpter), who is threatened by associates from her dark past including steely, commanding politician Rachel Burke (Curtis), who has an unwavering knack for achieving her goals.” And it add that “Martin (Tavassoli) harbors another type of obsession with Libby in the story of betrayal and regret.”
Filming started Monday and is expected to continue at various locations around town through July.
Mayor Steve Hagerty called movie productions “a vital part of our economic growth” in a statement and said the film “will offer a terrific opportunity to showcase our vibrant community, unique neighborhoods and the citizens of Evanston.”
City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz says the production will bring in a minimum of $300,000 in revenue to the city this summer.
The Pages team has also hired Curt’s Cafe to be caterer for the production.
