A Taste of YEA!, the music event, will be held at S.P.A.C.E., 1245 Chicago Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Evanston Township High School Jazz Ensemble, the ETHS A Cappella Ensemble, the Nichols School Jazz Band, and musicians from the School of Rock will perform and Whole Foods will provide food for the event. Tickets for the all-ages benefit are $10.

The 23rd edition of the Young Evanston Artists festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, on the sidewalks of the Chicago/Dempster business district. In case of rain the event will move to Dawes School, at Dodge Avenue and Oakton Street.

YEA! is a festival of visual art created by Evanston students. All public, private and parochial schools, pre-school through high school, are invited to exhibit students’ artwork in this inclusive, non-competitive festival. In addition to visual art, the performing arts stage features music and dance performances from Evanston youth.

Autobarn of Evanston is the title festival sponsor this year. Other sponsors include Duxler Tire, Evanston S.P.A.C.E., Whole Foods, The School of Rock, Bravo, Chamber of Commerce, First Bank & Trust of Evanston, Footprint Fund/Allegra, McGaw YMCA, and Wesley Realty.

More than 6,000 students from 40 schools are expected to participate in the YEA! Festival.
