Youth Job Center plans benefit gala

The Youth Job Center of Evanston will hold its annual benefit Gala on May 7 featuring dinner, live music, a silent auction and a raffle.

Dale T. Mortensen, 2010 Nobel Prize winner in economics, Northwestern University, will be recognized at the event for his contribution to employment and workforce development.

The Youth Job Center of Evanston will hold its annual benefit Gala on May 7 featuring dinner, live music, a silent auction and a raffle.

Dale T. Mortensen, 2010 Nobel Prize winner in economics, Northwestern University, will be recognized at the event for his contribution to employment and workforce development.

Mortensen's research focuses on labor economics, macroeconomics and economic theory. He received the Nobel Prize in recognition of his work explaining why unemployment and job vacancies coexist and how wages and employment are affected by regulation and policy.

The gala begins with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail hour and silent auction with dinner and the program following at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $150. The event will be held at the Museum of Science and Industry inChicago.
